With the announcement in 2014 that Toyota would cease manufacturing and consolidate its national operations to Melbourne, the current manufacturing site is being refurbished and re-purposed.
In 2018 AREA3 were engaged by Toyota as the Client-Side Project Manager and Site Superintendent, to manage the design and delivery of the previously used manufacturing building located within the Altona precinct.
The project goal is to convert the warehouse into a new state of the art distribution and storage facility, to manage Toyota’s product distribution throughout Australia.
The works include the installation of a new receival and dispatch area, multi-use loading dock, refurbishment of the existing office and amenities area and the re-purposing of approx. 50,000m2 of existing manufacturing space. Completing November 2019.
